DOES THE BGSE PROGRAM MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS?
"Yes, although the coursework can be challenging and occasionally frustrating—something
that's probably true of most PhD programs. However, the professors are not only incredibly
knowledgeable but also approachable and supportive. Combined with the collaborative
atmosphere (especially within the cohort), where students are encouraged to engage in
discussions, share ideas, and work together, this creates an enriching and dynamic learning
experience."
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE BONN FOR YOUR STUDIES?
"I chose the BGSE because of its strong reputation and the excellent research facilities and seminars. Additionally, Bonn’s academic community is well-connected internationally, providing valuable networking opportunities. On a personal level, I was particularly drawn to the program's emphasis on training in quantitative methods."
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCE IN BONN UP TO NOW?
"Bonn is undoubtedly one of Germany’s most charming medium-sized cities. In my opinion, it’s an excellent place for students. The public transport system is efficient, making it easy to navigate the city and explore nearby destinations. I also love its unique balance—on one hand, it’s well-connected to major cities like Cologne, Düsseldorf, and the Ruhr area, while on the other, it offers easy access to nature, such as the beautiful Siebengebirge mountains."
