 Manchot Lecture. Professor Melissa Dell (Andrew E. Furer Professor of Econ
 omics\, Harvard University) will give a lecture titled\n\n"Credible Measur
 ement in the Age of AI".\nProfessor Dell's research focuses on economic gr
 owth and political economics. Her work examines\, among other topics\, the
  factors behind the long-run persistence of poverty and prosperity\, the e
 ffects of trade-induced job loss on crime\, the impacts of U.S. foreign in
 tervention\, and the effects of weather on economic growth.\n\nBefore the 
  Lecture\, the BGSE will present the inaugural Cläre Tisch Prize for an O
 utstanding Doctoral Dissertation in Economics  to Dr. Christina Brinkmann.
 \nThe Manchot Lecture is open to the public and addresses a general audien
 ce interested in contemporary economics research. External guests do not n
 eed to register. BGSE affiliates are kindly asked to register by October 2
 6 to secure a place at the subsequent BGSE get-together.
