Funding and Fees

The University of Bonn does not raise tuition fees.

Yet, in order to enroll at the University of Bonn you will have to pay the social service fees of app. € 300 per semester. A semester ticket for public transportation throughout the entire state of North-Rhine-Westphalia is included in this service fee.

The average monthly costs of living, including accommodation, food, books, and medical insurance amounts to 700-800 Euros. This is just an estimate, however, since costs may vary widely according to the type of accommodation students are choosing.

Some scholarships for exceptionally qualified candidates are available from various national organizations, such as e.g. the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Please check their homepage for further details. You may also want to visit the website of the international office.
