Program Structure

The Bachelor’s program in Economics and Computer Science is a three-year program (6 semesters), in which a total of 180 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits are earned.

Core Studies

In the first two years, you will acquire basic knowledge, concepts, models, and methods in the mandatory modules.

This foundational phase includes nine mandatory modules (96 ECTS credits):

    Advanced modules

    From the fourth semester, you will deepen and apply your foundational knowledge.

    The advanced phase of the program comprises a total of 72 ECTS credits and is divided into two elective areas: the focus field and the individual profile area.

    The focus field includes selected advanced modules that expand your knowledge in both economics and computer science based on the compulsory modules. You must choose at least 24 ECTS from computer science electives and 24 ECTS from economics electives.

    You complete your individual profile with an additional 24 ECTS. These credits can be selected from the subject-specific elective modules and/or the individual profile area, which offers more than 40 additional advanced modules in economics and computer science.

      Study Abroad

      in the third year of the program, particularly the 5th semester, studetns can spend a semnster abroad (either studying or doing an internship).

      Numerous partnerships and funding options (ERASMUS, Global Exchange), along with extensive recognition of international academic credits, allow foor students to spend a semester abroad without delaying their study progress.

      Bachelor’s Thesis

      Students completed the program in the 6th semester with the Bachelor’s thesis (12 ECTS credits).

      The Bachelor’s thesis is a written examination that demonstrates the student's ability to independently tackle a problem in the field of Economics & Computer Science within a set timeframe, apply scientific methods, develop a well-founded solution, and present the results appropriately.

      For the Bachelor’s thesis, examiners can be chosen from both fields. Interdisciplinary topics can also be supervised and evaluated jointly by examiners from both departments.
