Dates and Deadlines

After your admission, there are many dates and deadlines to remember:

  1. July 31/August 31: application for accommodation (from October 1st /November 1st) provided by the Studierendenwerk but reserved through the Department of Economics;
  2. October 15: enrollment deadline
  3. October 10, 2025: Orientation Session
  4. November/December: (expected dates, deadline to be announced): registration at the Economics Examinations Office.

Orientation Session

We will organize a meeting for all incoming students to give you an overview over the program and to answer your questions. Details will be announced. Below is a preliminary schedule.

09:15 am – 09:30 am: Welcome by the Head of the Department

09:30 am – 10:30 am: Brief introduction of the Basic Modules

10:30 am – 11:00 am: Coffee Break

11:00 am – 12:00 am: Overview over the structure of the program: Dr. S. Hübner-Monien, Master coordinator

12:00 am – 12:15 am: Brief introduction of the PhD program: Dr. S. Kinzig, managing director of the BGSE

12:30 pm - 1:00 pm Lunch Break

1:00 pm – 3:30 pm: Welcome by senior Master students and by student representatives,  plus Q&A, Meet and greet

Do not miss: The Orientation Session is the first step in your Master program

Once you have enrolled, paid the first social contribution installment and registered at the Economics Examinations Office, please look out for the exact deadlines of the following appointments when they are approaching:

  1. Mid-January: exam registration (Winter semester);
  2. From January to the end of February: payment of the Summer semester social contribution (Sozialbeitrag);
  3. End of June/Beginning of July: exam registration (Summer semester);
  4. From July to the end of August: payment of the Winter semester social contribution (Sozialbeitrag);
  5. Mid-September: registration for the research modules.
