Designed for the course phase

Once a year, up to three doctoral students are given the opportunity to spend their second year abroad at our partner university, University of California, Berkeley. Credits earned at Berkeley will be transferable toward the doctoral program in Bonn.

Successful students will need to apply for individual grants from organizations, such as the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (DFG) or Fulbright for their stay abroad.
