GETTSIM: German Taxes and Transfers Simulator

GETTSIM, the German Taxes and Transfers Simulator, is an open-source Python package that provides a detailed and transparent representation of the German tax and transfer system. It is designed for a wide range of research and microsimulation applications.

About the workshop

The workshop will bring together researchers, practitioners, and members of the GETTSIM community for presentations, short courses, and discussions. Topics and sessions will include:

• Research projects and applications using tax and transfer simulations
• Recent GETTSIM developments, including the 1.0 release and features added since then
• Tools and workflows in the GETTSIM ecosystem, including the SOEP preparation pipeline and working with GETTSIM personas
• Discussion of tax-benefit modelling practice and priorities for future GETTSIM development

Get involved!

Participants are invited to help shape the workshop program. During registration, they may propose a presentation of their own research project or application to be delivered at the workshop. They may also suggest topics, questions, applications, and improvements for discussion. We welcome participants who are curious about GETTSIM, practitioners of tax–benefit modelling, and academics at all levels of seniority. We particularly welcome perspectives from research, policy analysis, consulting, and teaching.

Registrations will be reviewed and confirmed by the organizers.
