Professor Farzad Saidi has been appointed Professor of Financial Economics at the University of Bonn’s Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute.

Farzad Saidi is a graduate of the London School of Economics and received his Ph.D. in Economics from New York University in 2013. Prior to joining the University of Bonn, he was an assistant professor at the University of Cambridge, the Stockholm School of Economics, and Boston University, where he was most recently appointed Dean’s Research Scholar. Furthermore, he is a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and a Research Fellow at the Swedish House of Finance.

Saidi’s research focuses on issues of banking and financial intermediation, monetary policy, and the interplay between financial intermediation and macroeconomics. His work has appeared in the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Management Science.

In Bonn, Saidi will take over the undergraduate course on financial markets and institutions from Professor Isabel Schnabel, and will actively engage in teaching topics courses in financial economics at the Bonn Graduate School of Economics.
