The Department of Economics is part of the Faculty of Law and Economics together with the Department of Law. The faculty is headed by a dean and two vice-deans. Decisions on matters concerning the entire faculty are made in the Faculty Council. The two departments also have their own organizational and management structures. The Department of Economics has adopted a departmental structure. The researchers at the various career stages from doctorate to professorship are organized in five institutes. All doctoral students of the department are trained according to uniform standards in the Bonn Graduate School of Economics.
