Bonn, as the former capital of Germany, offers insights into German history and German culture while also being a very livable city: spread throughout the city are numerous museums and galleries, cinemas, theatres, concert halls, restaurants, bars and clubs. Bonn is also home to various international organizations including the UN, GIZ and Deutsche Welle and thus offers both an international atmosphere and numerous internship opportunities.

The beautiful 19th-century architecture of the city center, the river Rhine as well as the Beethoven House are important sights and the Siebengebirge, a nearby Nature Reserve, is always worth a trip. Special events throughout the year include Carnival in February, the world-famous Cherry Blossom in Altstadt in March and April, various cultural events including open-air concerts, cinema and theatre in the late summer months as well as the Christmas market throughout the city in December.

Located in the heart of Europe

Bonn is a medium-sized city, which makes it easy to ride your bike all over town. In addition, public transport is also well developed. Moreover, Bonn is located in the heart of Europe and perfectly connected for traveling throughout the country (Cologne, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Berlin...) as well as the whole of Europe (London, Amsterdam, Paris...). The nearby Cologne-Bonn airport as well as a great train connection makes traveling very easy.
