Universitá degli Studi di Padova
The Università degli Studi di Padova (University of Padua) is one of Italy's most prestigious and historic universities. It is located in the north-eastern Italian city of Padua in the Veneto region and was founded in 1222. This makes it one of the oldest universities in Europe and home to the continent's oldest botanical garden. With almost 70,000 students, the university sets the pace for the city, with a population of approximately 200,000. Probably the most famous employee at the University of Padua was Galileo Galilei, who worked there for 18 years as a professor of mathematics. The Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno" ranks 301-400 in both the Shanghai Ranking in Economics and the Times Higher Education Ranking in Business and Economics.
