Hannah Illing, a postdoctoral researcher at ECONtribute at the University of Bonn, conducts research on the labor market, particularly in relation to gender equality and migration. In two studies, she analyzed the effects of migration on the German labor market and the long-term integration of skilled workers. We talk about how migration affects wages, unemployment, and employment, why the literature on this topic is sometimes contradictory, and why the barriers to the labor market are higher for migrants than for Germans throughout their entire working lives.

This episode is about work, migration, and integration.
