On September 1, 2025, Benjamin Born joined the University of Bonn as Professor of Macroeconomics. He has held faculty positions at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and at the Universities of Bonn and Mannheim, and earned his PhD from the Bonn Graduate School of Economics.

His research focuses on business cycles, fiscal and monetary policy, heterogeneous agents, and the expectations of households and firms. Beyond academia, he advises the European Commission and the European Parliament, is a member of the Euro Area Business Cycle Dating Committee, and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Monetary Economics and the European Economic Review.

At Bonn, he will teach courses in Macroeconomics and Empirical Methods at all levels.
