The concept for the teaching awards was developed by the evaluation project group together with representatives of the Economics student council on the basis of student teaching evaluations. The arithmetic mean of the overall grade (1 best grade; 5 worst grade) for the content of the course and the lecturer is decisive. If the mean is the same for two or more courses or lecturers, the result of selected and weighted questions from the survey is decisive, in the event of a further tie, the standard deviation is decisive.
For this year's 2024/25 teaching awards, the evaluation results from the summer semester 2024 and the winter semester 2024/25 were taken into account. The winners are:
Category Bachelor compulsory area (Teaching Award of the Rectorate)
Prof. Dr. Farzad Saidi with the course „Finanzmärkte und -Institutionen“ in the summer semester 2024.
The students particularly appreciated the lecturer's sense of humour and the collegial atmosphere this created in the course. The lecturer's high level of commitment, which was reflected in both his technical and didactic expertise, was also emphasised. The regular examples and references to current research were praised by several students. One comment summarised the experience of the event as ‘It was fun to learn!’. Prof Dr. Farzad Saidi therefore received a weighted grade of 1.1.

Dr. Cathrin Mohr with the course „Wirtschaftsgeschichte“ in the summer semester 2024.
The students particularly appreciated the motivating nature of the lecturer, whose enthusiasm for the subject meant that she was able to win many over to the topic. The students also attributed this to her ability to explain complex content in an understandable way, taking into account different levels of prior knowledge. The clear structure of the lecture, the selection of topics and insights into research were very well received. In a commentary, the course was rated as ‘Simply perfect!’. Dr. Cathrin Mohr therefore received a weighted grade of 1.1.

Prof. Dr. Dominik Liebl with the course „Econometrics“ in the winter semester 2024/25.
The Master's students also particularly appreciated the friendly, humorous and motivating manner of their lecturer. In terms of content, the course impressed with its critical examination of the methodology commonly used in research, illustrated by examples and supported by clearly structured digital materials that emphasised the lecturer's particular commitment. In one comment, the experience of many students is simply summarised as "The course is really good. The professor is also really great.". Prof Dr. Dominik Liebl therefore received a weighted grade of 1.4.

Prof. Dr. Dominik Liebl with the course „Computational Statistics“ in the summer semester 2024.
In this course as well, the Master's students particularly emphasised the comprehensible and thorough way in which complex content was conveyed. It was particularly appreciated that the course provided both a solid theoretical foundation and enabled the methods to be applied to specific tasks. As in the Basic Module, the quality of his teaching was summarised in one comment with the words ‘Prof. Liebl is an excellent professor’. Prof Dr Dominik Liebl therefore received a weighted grade of 1.3.
