B. Sc. Economics and Computer Science
New degree program starting in winter semester 2026/27, currently undergoing accreditation. A significant share of the courses will be taught in German; therefore applicants are required to have at least B2-level proficiency in German.
Understanding and shaping economic decisions with data
Today, data are a key to understanding economic relationships. In almost all areas of life and work, large amounts of data are generated every day, representing a valuable resource also for economic sciences.
The three-year interdisciplinary Bachelor program Economics and Computer Science combines economics and computer science. During your studies, you will learn to program, to analyze economic data, and to examine economic relationships using models. This enables you, for example, to explore how markets evolve, how people make economic decisions, and what patterns can be identified in large datasets.
The program is jointly offered by the Department of Economics (Faculty of Law and Economics) and the Institute of Computer Science (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences).
With skills in economics, programming, and data analysis, graduates are well prepared for careers at the intersection of business, technology, and data science—whether in companies, international organizations, public administration, or academia.
