Erasmus Partnerships and Institutional Partnerships

You have the opportunity to study a semester abroad either with the ERASMUS+ program or through a partnership of the department.


    ERASMUS+ & ERASMUS ICM (International Credit Mobility)

    The ERASMUS+ program of the EU enables students to study at a university within the EU for three to twelve months or to do an internship in the countries of the EU. Students are provided with both financial and organisational support during their semester abroad or their internship abroad. More about Erasmus+7.

    The new generation of Erasmus programs will be launched at the University of Bonn in the summer semester of 2022.

    The new Erasmus+ places its special focus on promoting equal opportunities and inclusion as well as sustainability. Therefore, additional financial support is available on the one hand for "green" travel, on the other hand for students with a GdB of 20 or more or chronic illnesses, for students who want to take their children with them to study abroad and from WS 2022/23 for working students and students from a non-academic background.     The application deadline for the academic year 2024/25 (winter semester 2024/25 and summer semester 2025) is February 01, 2024.

    ERASMUS+ Iternational Credit Mobility (ICM)

    Economics students also have the opportunity to study outside Europe with the Erasmus+, the Department of Economics currently has cooperation agreements with two universities in Israel.

    The mobility grant for one semester at these universities is € 700 per month.

    The application deadline is - as for the regular Erasmus+ program - February 1, 2024 for the winter semester 2024/25 and the summer semester 2025.

    The Department of Economics also cooperates with two well-known univeristies in Russia. If you are interested, please contact the International Coordinator.

    Application Requirements

    • Enrollment as a regular student
    • completion of at least the first year of study at the beginning of the study abroad program
    • sufficient proficiency of the teaching language

    Selected applicants are required to take an online language test before and after the ERASMUS semester, which is used by the EU to evaluate the language skills gained during the semester abroad. More information here: https://erasmusplusols.eu/de/

    Application

    Please submit the following application documents to the International Coordination by the deadline (either in person in room 0.39 in the Juridicum, by mail or drop them in the International Coordination mailbox in front of the Dean's Office). Please also submit a copy of your application - as one pdf - to Auslandskoordination.wiwi@uni-bonn.de

    • Letter of motivation (either in German or English) in which you explain both your academic and your personal motivations for studying abroad. You can select up to three universities; please explain for every university why you would like to study there.
      • for Israel: Letter of motivation in English
    • Tabular CV (optionally in German or English)
    • Current BASIS transcript (for Master's students: copy of Bachelor's certificate)
    • High school diploma (copy)
    • Proof of English language skills (e.g. high school diploma, language certificate from IAAK, TOEFL test, IELTS test or Cambridge Certificates)
      • for Israel: TOEFL with at least 89 points or IELTS with 7 points.
    • Proof of knowledge of the language of instruction, if this is not English (e.g. DELF, DALF, TCF for Toulouse)
    • Evidence of extracurricular activities (if any).

    Suitable applicants will be invited to a selection interview.
